I have checked the prices of your spectacles and found that they compare favourably with the prices on the high street and other
websites. How do you achieve this?
Eye-Eye Optics is a streamlined organisation without the overheads incurred by retail chains. We put the manufacturer directly in touch with you the customer
and avoid and cut out many unnecessary costs as a result.
I already have a prescription, may I use this?
If you have an up to date prescription (less than 2 years old), this may be used when ordering. Otherwise a visit to your optician
will be necessary.
In addition to Single Lenses, can you supply Bifocal and Varifocal lenses?
Yes, we supply Single Vision, Bifocal and Varifocal lenses. Our online order form caters for the majority of people with normal eye defects.
If on your prescription the total value of the Sphere and Cylindrical Values is greater than +/-8 you will be prompted to contact us for
our specialist service pricing.
Single Vision lenses come FREE with all our frames. Your prescription will tell us whether you need :
Single Vision lenses for reading – Shortsight, you can see close objects easier than distant objects.
Single Vision lenses for distance – Longsight, you can see distant objects easier than close objects.
Single Vision lenses for intermediate work - computer use. For this we require both near and distance strengths.
Bifocal lenses combine both distance and near powers in one lens (2 powers in 1). The lens is divided in two. The top is used for
distance, the bottom for reading.
If you have not entered your Pupillary Distance then we will take the average recommended by Ophthalmic Opticians. We recommend, however,
that you ask for your PD at your eye test.
Varifocal lenses combine distance, intermediate and reading in one lens (3 powers in 1). For those who need to wear glasses all
the time varifocals cover most situations. Unlike the bifocal lens the varifocal has no lines on it denoting the different strengths. It is very
important that we have your exact PD measurement, as we cannot take an average here. Without it we cannot process your order.
How do I read my prescription? What does it mean?
Your prescription will look something like this. Do not worry if it is not exactly the same. Our technicians have years of
experience and although the format might be slightly different the information is the same.

Please check carefully to be sure your have entered the correct information. Some boxes in your prescription may be blank.
These should be left empty. If you have any doubts please contact us at customerservices@eye-eyeoptics.com or fax us your prescription at 0046 413 25767.
What do the terms on my prescription mean?
Answer
What the terms mean:
Sphere (SPH) this determines the strength of the lens and therefore its thickness. Shortsight is corrected by negative sphere values. Longsight is corrected by
positive sphere values.
Cylindrical (CYL) this determines the strength of the astigmatism. If the Cylindrical value is negative in one then it is usually the same in the other
eye and vice versa. There are, however, exceptions.
Astigmatism, this is the defect in the eye or lens that prevents correct focusing.
Axis value, this is the angle of the astigmatism correction. If you have a Cylindrical reading on your prescription then you should have an Axis reading.
Near addition, (ADD) is the amount to add to the Sphere value for reading or intermediate glasses.
What is my Pupillary Distance?
This is the distance in millimetres between your pupils. It is used to make sure the positioning of your lenses in your new frames is accurate.
Ask your optician to provide your PD on you prescription It takes only seconds to do. Without it we cannot process any varifocal orders.
How do I know what size frames I need?
All our frame measurements are clearly labelled to help you choose the type of frame you want. If you check on the inside arm of your frames there is a series of
numbers printed - 48 19, 135.
If you cannot find it do not worry it can be wiped away with constant use.
The lens diameter is a matter of choice, the style you most like. The bridge width and arm length are a guide to the size you want. They do not have to be exactly
the same, they are guide lines only. The frame is measured from temple to temple and is another guide to your size. We have included three categories, small - medium –
large to help you.
What is included in the price?
Included in the price are the frames, lenses, free hard protective case, cleaning cloth, a free Hard Coat/Scratch Resistant Coating,
